I urge you to celebrate your success by adding at least your name and the date to your quilt. That’s what I mean by finishing strong: going beyond what’s required to complete your quilt.
I’m still piecing my quilt back. It’s a slow process, but I’m determined to finish it up by this weekend. Also, I decided to quilt my top with 60-degree crosshatching like my Home for Christmas quilt. I like the angle because I don’t need to line up with any angles on my quilt blocks, which means it’s very forgiving of any wonky seams or corners. My binding strips are ready for the final leg of this creative journey.
Progress Report
Perhaps my progress has stalled, but my nieces are marching along toward their own strong finishes. I spent time sewing with each of them during the past week and scheduled our next sewing sessions. They’re excited to share their progress with you!
Ms. M has a background in marketing and retail display, so she exercised her creative eye while arranging her nine blocks. We ran out of time before completing the sashing and borders, but she is almost done with her quilt top.
Miss A sewed two more blocks last weekend, and we hope to sew more this weekend. She works so diligently on her straight seams! We’re all so proud of her great attitude and delight in creating with her sewing machine.
I am looking forward to sharing three finished quilts and three very happy quilters. Here’s to finishing strong!
